Тема радости очень часто поднимается в Библии. Павел практически во всех своих посланиях призывает к радости, иногда по нескольку раз, особо концентрируя на этом внимание (Филиппийцам 4:4). Иисус много говорил о радости и о том, как сильно Он хотел бы, чтобы мы испытали ту радость, которая была в Нём (Иоанна 15:14). Также к радости много призывали Пётр, Иаков и другие апостолы.
