The Bible says that anyone who has any hidden deceit at judgment will not go to Heaven. Membership in a church won’t change this, doing great things for others won’t change this. The day you became a Christian won’t save you from not being transparent and honest with yourself and others and God.
Revelation 21:27 NIV
[27] Nothing impure will ever enter it, nor will anyone who does what is shameful or deceitful, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life.
You can’t lie to someone and only go to God for forgiveness and not the person, boss, parent or anyone.
Matthew 6:14-15 NIV
[14] For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. [15] But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.
“THE ACID TEST”
We can easily deceive ourselves in thinking we are in a right standing with God when we aren’t. The simple way to see where you are with God is to ask your Christian brother or sister who is in your life how they think you are doing. Be humble and ready to hear what they tell you. And be humble and honest with what the Bible tells you and I you have been obedient.
James 5:16 NIV
[16] Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.
“YOU ARE ONLY AS SICK AS YOUR SECRETS”
Revelation 2:3-5 NIV
[3] You have persevered and have endured hardships for my name, and have not grown weary. [4] Yet I hold this against you: You have forsaken the love you had at first. [5] Consider how far you have fallen! Repent and do the things you did at first. If you do not repent, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place.
2 Corinthians 13:5 NIV
[5] Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you—unless, of course, you fail the test?
