Great News in Orange County! – October 23, 2016

Greetings from Orange County October 2016!

Romans 16:3-4 “Greet Priscilla and Aquila, my co-workers in Christ Jesus. They risked their lives for me. Not only I but all the churches of the Gentiles are grateful to them. Greet also the church that meets at their house.”

The courageous disciples, Aquila & Priscilla return to their home in Rome after meeting Paul on the Cornith mission field. Upon arriving back in Rome, these disciples hosted meetings in their home. At the time persecution was high and “church buildings” were not used until the Catholic Church starts in 300ad. “House Church” is how they built the 1st Century Church in Rome and is our plan to building the 21st Century Church in Orange County!

“House Church is a family that has a meeting!”

Over the next two months, we will be getting very familiar with our House Churches as we will have “House Church Services” November 6th & 27th along with December 11th, 24th, & 31st. Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve will be evening services.  Heres some good news from around Orange County.

Guldana From Fullerton House Church

Greetings from the Fullerton Campus House Church!
Our church service was located at Craig Regional Park where we started off with great worship in songs- led by Cantrell Tripp, Manilyn Pogoso and a special guest from the San Francisco Church, Lauren Ona. Next, Dylan Agans and Angie Figueroa, bible talk leaders at FJC, shared a very creative welcoming with the addition of corny Bible jokes.
Dylan & Angie bring joy to the hearts of the saints with their witty Bible humor
Afterward, Tina Lomeli shared a powerful communion where she explained how the cross means healing and restoration.
Then, Adrian Anzures shared a heartfelt contribution message, using Isaiah 43, depicting how true love equals sacrifice.
Finally, Kevin Trujillo preached the Word titled “Destined for Greatness” where he focused on these three points in Acts 1-8.

Kevin powerfully preaches in God’s Cathedral

1. Great is who changes the heart not who changed the body
– Implemented the scripture Ezekiel 36:24-28, he taught how God gives us a new heart, a heart of obedience

2. Greatness depends on you, but it doesn’t come from you
– Emphasized that what happens on our campuses depends on us but comes from God.

3. Your situation might not be great, but your God is
– Capitalized that we must never underestimate the mighty God that we serve.

Finally, the young preacher ended the sermon by instilling passion and vision in the house church by introducing a campaign to unify the disciples – Project Judah!
Patty From Latin House Church:

Psalm‬ ‭126:1-6‬ ‭NIV‬‬ “When the Lord restored the fortunes of Zion, we were like those who dreamed. Our mouths were filled with laughter, our tongues with songs of joy. Then it was said among the nations, “The Lord has done great things for them.” The Lord has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy. Restore our fortunes, Lord, like streams in the Negev. Those who sow with tears will reap with songs of joy. Those who go out weeping, carrying seed to sow, will return with songs of joy, carrying sheaves with them.”

The Spanish Speaking House church and had an incredible Sunday service as we witnessed Omar and Alejandra get restored to Gods kingdom! Omar was one of the original 42 who came to LA from Portland Oregon! We are fired up to have the incredible couple back and excited to see how God is going to use them in a powerful way!

Omar finally gets restored to his first love!
Alejandra follows her husband back into the kingdom of God
We also had our dear sister Lenny Gonzalez and her precious daughter Lizzy back to service after two months off due to Lizzy’s back surgery. Lizzy is doing great, and as a family, we are continuing to pray for healing! The fire didn’t stop there as we heard a POWERFUL message preached by the Spanish House church very own ICCM evangelist in the making Ricardo Gonzalez!!!  He did an incredible job teaching the first eight chapters of the book of Acts!

Ricardo had to much fun at the pulpit preaching the word! Vamos Mi Amigo
As we come up on the last two months of the year, let us remember all the amazing things God has done! Just this month the LA church was able to break the record for the number of baptisms in one week; breaking the previous record of 15 with a total of 19 baptisms for the Lord! There is a lot to be thankful for as we praise God for all that he has done!
As we come close to our “Shared Service” on November 13th we have excitedly raised over $32k for missions! With a goal of $58,073 we only have $26k to go! Remember to do your best and let Jesus take care of the rest! Let’s make sure everyone is going to share in this great victory that the Lord is going to give us on November 13th by feeling great about their gift to Special Missions. Our goal for November 1st is that we will have raised and turned in over 80% of our total goal! Please join me in prayer and action for this incredible goal for the souls of men and women around the world!
“Do not withhold good from those who need it, when you have the ability to help” Proverbs 3:27 NET
Since Mandee and I have moved here in June, it’s amazing to think how fast time goes; we have learned many valuable lessons. We are so thankful for the love and the grace each one of you have shown us as we learn and grow how to be the most effective church leaders we can be. We are excited about the friendships we have made and are even more ecstatic for the friendship to come in the next five years of being in Orange County!

Love,
