God has been very gracious to the Marrieds’ Ministry in 2013, as we are just of shy of doubling our number from the beginning of the year! After five months of late nights and very early mornings, studying and wrestling with the scriptures, Jack Fredericks’ baptism (our 8th addition) this past Saturday, May 4, at Manhattan Beach Pier was truly a celebration! Jack has been so inspirational to Pat (Boea) and myself throughout the studies, as he acted like a Berean by digging deep into the scriptures to see what was said to him was true by God’s Word (Acts 17:11-12). As we began to close out the studies and count the costs, Jack was like a kid, so excited to be baptized and start his new life that he had trouble sleeping the last couple of nights. What is equally exciting is that his wife, Ana, is counting the costs as well and should be baptized soon! It was very touching to see how God helped Jack’s relationship with his mom, as she shed tears sharing about how much she has witnessed changes in him over the last five months and how much she has always and will always love him. We are praying that his mom will soon come to service and study the Bible as well. And to God be the glory!
Now we know why God created the ocean! To baptize disciples, like Jack!
