“Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:18-20
Jesus was the greatest dreamer of all time. Dreaming of an evangelized world while speaking to 11 guys; Calling them to go into every nation and “make disciples,” teaching them to obey everything Jesus has commanded them! What was so special about these 11 guys? Nothing! Except they spent time with Jesus (Acts 4:13).
Today, Jesus is still dreaming of an evangelized world while speaking to us! What is so special about us? Nothing! Except we have been set free by Jesus!
“To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” They answered him, “We are Abraham’s descendants and have never been slaves of anyone. How can you say that we shall be set free?” Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, everyone who sins is a slave to sin. Now a slave has no permanent place in the family, but a son belongs to it forever. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.” John 31-36
Believing in God must be accompanied with “holding to the teaching” of Jesus if we are to be set free from sin! Only then can we know the truth. Have we been set free from sin, or is there still parts of our lives in bondage because we refuse to hold to all scriptures? We must not be afraid to call people to obey the entire word of God.
As liberated slaves, we must not use our freedom as a coverup for sin, but to fulfill the vision of Christ (1 Peter 2:16)! Too many have been set free, and lost their desire to achieve Jesus last words of evangelizing the world in their generation! Why? Becuase the desire for independence, selfishness, autonomy, and pride!
For the churches that have baptized disciples of Jesus, what is the plan to fulfill the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20)? This is not going to happen without a plan! We all know, to get the church, you have to have the Apostles appointed. To evangelize the world, we must have a plan. We must not do our own thing, but call everyone who is a baptized disciple to join us in evangelizing the world!
“God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.” 1 Timothy 2:3-4
God’s heart is not just for Jews but also Gentiles to be saved. Not just for Americans, but the whole world! The question we must all ask ourselves, “Is God’s heart my heart?” Do I want all men to be saved or just my bloodline? It is not enough to just save our loved ones because every person is someone’s father or mother, son or daughter, brother or sister! How much am I willing to sacrifice to get the gospel to all nations?
We must not assume there are disciples of all nations; we must make disciples of all nations. We are not to assume that there are disciples already out there, but when we find them call them to join us. We must look at the world like Jesus did, as lost. And we propel this vision into the church, and into a lost world!
I am so grateful to be apart of the SoldOut Discipling Movement because it has a plan to evangelize the world! “Crown of Thorns Project” and “Project Eagle” Although we have been very sacrificial and our ministers and missionaries are very frugal, we have been under major scrutiny because of the cost to evangelize the world. Just because it costs money to send people all over the world, sustain churches in local and foreign mission fields, and to take care of benevolent needs in the church should we not do it? If we do not have the funds to get the job done, we must raise funds like any other charity organization. Let it not be said of our generation that the reason we did not fulfill Jesus last words, was because of money! As Abolitionist of the 21st century, we will raise funds to get the job done because peoples salvation is counting on it! Persecution is not something that will stop us from evangelizing the world; it helps us see we are doing something right!
“If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you. Remember what I told you: ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also. If they obeyed my teaching, they will obey yours also.” John 15:18-20
Jesus warned us that this type of persecution would come, but not to fall away when it happens (John 16:1-5). Together with disciples and churches all over the world, we are growing, multiplying, and getting the gospel to every city and I want you to be apart of it!
This May we are holding a Special Missions Contribution. The money raised will help send out mission teams, support ministry staff around the world, and even feed many of our brothers and sisters in third world countries! Let us Go and Make Disciples in All Nations in our Generation!
Love,
